2026-2027 GPS School Calendar
For the first time ever, we are excited to announce that the school calendars for the next two years, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, are now available!
A special thank you to the Calendar Committee for their time and effort in making this possible. These calendars will allow families to plan vacations and time away well in advance, ensuring students can avoid missing valuable school days.
You can find the calendars under the "Parents" section on all school websites and are available in Printable Flyers for your convenience.


And this week's winner of the Griffin of the Week Award is....
Sean Apolonio!
This past weekend at the Omaha Central Powerlifting Meet, Sean set the state record for the bench press in his weight class! Sean's bench of 165 pounds gave him the state record for the 114-pound weight class. Sean also went on to take 1st place in his weight class as well and helped lead the Griffin Powerlifting team to a 3rd place finish overall!

Shoutout to the Gretna East High School Speech Team! Yesterday at the Elkhorn Level Up tournament, we had an amazing showing with 9 events making finals and medaling!
Special congrats to the OID event for taking home 1st place!


Congratulations to the Gretna East Wind Ensemble for being selected to perform at the 2025 NSBA conference!! Each year, a group of band directors select two high school concert bands, a middle school band, and a jazz ensemble to perform at the yearly conference.

This week's winners are Nyssa and Evelyn Arnold!
Evelyn and Nyssa have put in countless hours of work outside of rehearsal times on the Griffin Show Choir's light show. Their commitment, effort, and attention to detail consistently go far above and beyond. Their dedication and teamwork skills set a high bar! Congrats Evelyn and Nyssa!

This week's winner is Sydney Hottovy!
Syndey is this week's winner due to her high work ethic and constant positive energy she brings to the Griffin band and classroom! Her teachers report her drive to improve her instrument skills and encouragement of her peers is outstanding.

A little overdue, but HUGE congratulations to Alyssa Hoscheid and Max Traengan for their incredible performance at last month’s AcDec competition at Bellevue University! Alyssa took home GOLD in Social Science, Music, Science, and Economics, while Max earned SILVER in Science and Economics.
We’re also thrilled to host the Regional AcDec competition next Saturday!



Congratulations to these Griffins who earned the NCPA Fall Academic All State!

Maggie is this week's winner due to her constant 100% effort at everything she does, whether it's in the classroom, on the basketball court, or on the Student Council. Her teachers describe her as a kind, humble, and a hard-working Griffin!

This week's winner is Rebekah Carnine!
Rebekah is a 9th grader whose leadership, positive attitude, and encouragement of her classmates were quickly noticed by her teachers at GEHS. Even though she was new to the building this year, she quickly became involved in clubs like Green Team and Hope Squad! Her positive attitude and leadership abilities have been a great addition to the Griffin school community!
