Gretna Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Tyler Bartlett as the new Assistant Principal at Aspen Creek Middle School. Mr. Bartlett will officially begin serving students, staff, and families in the 2026–2027 school year.
Mr. Bartlett brings over a decade of experience in middle school education and leadership. He currently serves as Principal at Newcastle Middle School in Newcastle, Wyoming, where he has led instructional programs, guided professional growth for staff, and promoted a collaborative and inclusive school environment. Earlier in his career, he taught mathematics and coached athletes at both the middle and high school levels.
Superintendent Travis Lightle said, “We are excited to welcome someone of Mr. Bartlett's caliber. Before becoming an administrator, he received the Wyoming Teacher of the Year award. We look forward to him bringing his experience, passion, and energy, which will fit perfectly with Aspen Creek Middle School.”
Mr. Bartlett shared that he is a passionate educator who takes pride in the school culture he has helped build over the past seven years. He and his wife, a middle school English teacher, are looking forward to joining a larger, family-centered community to provide more opportunities for their two children.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bartlett has earned multiple honors, including Wyoming Teacher of the Year and Weston County School District #1 Teacher of the Year. He holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education from Chadron State College. His work focuses on effective teaching strategies, team development, and strong partnerships with families.
As Assistant Principal, Mr. Bartlett will support building operations, instructional leadership, and student services at Aspen Creek Middle School. Gretna Public Schools looks forward to the leadership and expertise he will bring to the school.
